A Teenager's Dream
Inspired by his paternal grandfather, a young boy set out to emulate his example and become a successful business icon through sheer dedication and unyielding determination.
The First Step
At just 16, Mahesh Fernando borrowed cash from his father, Mr. George Fernando, to purchase a vehicle from a government auction. This restored vehicle became his first successful sale, launching his entrepreneurial journey.
Mahesh International (Pvt) Ltd is established
While continuing his education, Mahesh built a reputation for providing impeccable quality vehicles. In 2000, he officially registered the business under his own name, reflecting the trust customers placed in him.
Expansion and Importation
The business moved to a spacious location at No. 61, Daluwakotuwa, Kochchikade. Expanding the strategy, Mahesh International began importing vehicles from Japan, quickly growing to import more than 60 vehicles per month to meet the demand for low-to-zero mileage vehicles.
A Leading Importer
What began with one employee now provides employment to nearly 50 people. The business has grown into one of Sri Lanka's top three vehicle importers, earning the respect of clients, the public, and competitors alike.
